Often new mothers can find themselves feeling 'at sea' in the first weeks and months of becoming a parent. It's a new territory, and quite often there is no road map. Getting help in these early days can really change our experiences of parenthood, and often a little bit of help goes a long, long way.
If you are finding aspects of being a new mother tricky and feel as though you could do with a helping hand (or a listening ear), you may find a Mother Mentoring session gives you what you need. The sessions are facilitated by Sarah Wheatley, an experienced and BACP Registered Counsellor who specialises in supporting women postnatally.
Mother Mentoring is a warm and non-judgemental session where Sarah will work with you to figure out what is bothering you, explore your situation and what will help you feel better, and then help you create a plan of how this can be achieved using the resources available to you. If you would like additional support, in the few weeks following your initial session Sarah will keep in touch by phone/skype or email.
In subsequent sessions, Sarah will help you examine how you are doing and fine tune or add to the initial plan you put in place.
These sessions are tailored to your individual needs and focus on building your confidence and resilience in your role as a new mother.
Initial sessions are £65 for 1.5 hours, with up to four follow up phone/Skype calls or emails.
Subsequent sessions are £45 for 1 hour.
Venue: Sarah is happy to visit you in your own home. Or, you are welcome to see her at her home in Portobello.
