KnotStressed recently nominated the Edinburgh Sick Kids Friends Foundation (charity number: SC020862) as it's charity of choice for February 08-March 09.  We will be donating 50p per hour for all massage treatments, workshops, onsite work and courses.  We are hoping this amount will add up to around £300-500 being donated each year.

The charity provides funding over and above Health Care Provision to help children at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh in five main ways:

• Providing many extra comforts for children in hospital to enjoy
• The funding of extra medical equipment
• The provision of extra child friendly facilities
• Helping Sick children who are cared for in the community
• The funding of extra training and research

In the recent past the Sick Kids Friends Foundation has provided wonderful accommodation for parents at the hospital, funded the purchase of a new CT Scanner and several pieces of state-of-the-art operating theatre equipment and opened a unique Drop In Centre at the hopsital as well as providing many smaller projects such as Smart Wheelchairs, relaxing lighting systems and a welcome present for every child coming to hospital as an In-patient.

Partner Massage during Pregnancy: would you like to find out how to support your pregnant partner through massage? Giving massage to your partner at this time will help ease her aches and pains, reduce stretchmarks, promote health and encourage relaxation. Birth partner and Labour Preparation: are you keen to find out how to prepare for an active, natural birth and be shown tools and techniques that can help to relieve pain during labour?
