I want to thank Beverley for the wonderful classes she gave us! I have to admit, before starting pregnancy yoga, I wasn't expecting it to be so essential but I was totally wrong! She helped me with all the pains I had and I became more confindent about the movements I can do during my pregnancy and how to use my body! Thank you for everything Beverley and keep on making pregnant women sooooooo relaxed!!!

We came to your Relax & Breathe course in Feb/March 2015. I gave birth to little Ruairidh on 31/03/15, a week before the estimated due date. My birthing journey took 46 hours but it was worth every second. I managed 40 of those hours with no pain relief other than my learned techniques. I agreed to be induced on day 2 and ended up getting a little assistance by episiotomy. This is not the birth journey I'd had in mind and other people I know that have experienced a similar birth described theirs as a 'nightmare'. Even though it was difficult, I felt in control and at peace the entire time, helped enormously by David's calming influence. I believe that the experience would not have been a positive one had we not attended your course and cannot thank you enough. I highly recommend this course.

I I started pregnancy yoga with Kat at 16 weeks up until I was 39 weeks. Prior to pregnancy my exercise was high impact gym sessions and competitive netball training and playing, I had never done yoga before and didn't know what to expect....! I chose to do pregnancy yoga as a few friends had recommended it as good light exercise and relaxation during pregnancy and gives you some techniques to cope and manage with labour - I needed to be able to manage a 'marathon' instead of 'sprints' that I was used to.. Kat is an amazing instructor, she has an incredible knowledge of changes to your body in pregnancy and suggests how all poses can be adjusted to your ability/ how you are feeling that day (we can all have days where balance is not there!)/ any conditions that occur as a result of pregnancy - pelvis, lower back pain, carpal tunnel etc. Kat is genuinely well educated in yoga, pregnancy and labour and this really shows through in her classes with helpful tips and information being shared. The main points I took from the classes are the breathing techniques and the positive approach and attitude to what happens in labour - don't fight it embrace it and relax! I am pleased to say that I utilised these during my labour and with the positive mental attitude, breathing, tens machine and a birth ball I laboured at home for 21 hours taking myself to the full 10cms and arrived at the birth centre ready to push! I would throughly recommend the classes to any pregnant lady they are also a good way to meet friends who you can meet up with for coffee and cake during maternity leave. Thank you Kat for your great classes.

As a fitness addict the one thing I was worried about during my pregnancy was missing out of the gym I so much loved. I decided to look for a yoga class specific for pregnancy as I thought this would still keep me active. I came across Kats class and thought I would try it out.
I went for the trial and loved it!. I was ready to sign my life over to Kat!. The classes are nice and small and intimate which meant the room never over heated or was too cold. It always felt like the classes were 1:1 with Kat. My baby also loved the yoga classes. She would really wriggle around in some of the yoga moves. Sometimes when my baby was sitting high up close to my ribs Kat would suggest moves to help baby adjust..and again this would work like magic.
Other than using the yoga to keep fit it came in very useful for my labour. The last thing I asked Kat before my labour was “What yoga moves can I use in delivery?” her advice was “use the breathing”.
My initial reaction was just the breathing?. I had no idea how useful this advice was going to be until labour.. Once my labour had started I remembered Kats words.. and started using yoga breathing to work through a surge.. as soon as I felt a contraction started I breathed in through my nose.. counted and breathed out.. And counted for longer.. Just like we did in our classes. The yoga breathing helped me work through my surges. I can honestly say I didn’t feel the pain.
Kats yoga classes are by far the best. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to keep fit but also to anyone who wants an easier labour and Delivery.

Sarah's Parentkind course is aimed at anyone with any kind of uncertainty or anxiety about becoming a parent. Through the various sessions you cover a range of topics including your expectations of becoming a parent versus the reality, your connection with your baby and changes to your relationships. Sarah is a patient and calm listener with a gentle, non-judgemental manner. Sessions take place in a peaceful environment and I very much felt I could be myself. In a society where the traditional family support network may be far away or non existent this course can bridge the gap and it offered me a brilliant start to motherhood; I'd go so far as to say that without it I'd be much further behind in understanding, accepting and ultimately enjouing my new role in this world - highly recommended.

I attended pregnancy yoga with Kat from 13 weeks right up to my due date. She is a great teacher who makes everyone feel welcome and creates a lovely atmosphere in the class. I'd look forward to sessions every week, especially after a hard day at work. Kat's classes suit everyone from complete beginner to more experienced yogini, and you can choose to really challenge yourself (safely) or take it easy - however you feel on the day! Yoga is fantastic for pregnancy, not only for preparation for labour (breathing exercises in particular for me) but also for post natal 'recovery', I would highly recommend it for all pregnant women and highly recommend Kat's classes.

I attended Kat's prenatal yoga class at Knot Stressed from 12 weeks, right up to when my baby arrived at 38 weeks. The class was a really lovely size and I had a great time whilst getting some much needed exercise in. Kat is a fantastic teacher, she manages to create a laid back and relaxing atmosphere to practice yoga, whilst also giving a beneficial and informative class.
This was my first baby so I had absolutely no idea what to expect birth-wise, I went into labour at 38 weeks, laboured for 5 hours and had a relatively easy, uncomplicated delivery. Prenatal yoga definitely helped me feel fit for birth both physically and mentally, and I would recommend it to anyone.
My wee boy is now 9 weeks old and I am back at yoga attending a post-natal class, again with Kat at Knot Stressed, that I am thoroughly enjoying.

I have been attending Beverley's Pregnancy Yoga classes throughout my pregnancy and I couldn't be happier with my experience! I had never really done yoga before except for a couple of classes more than 10 years ago... and so was maybe a bit daunted at the prospect. I shouldn't have worried however as Beverley made me feel at ease at once by welcoming me into the class.

I loved that there is a small portion at the beginning of the class dedicated to talking with the other mums. I feel this was an important part of the class experience, as it bonded everyone together and helps you get to know each other a little bit each week.

Beverley is also fantastic at adapting the yoga poses for each pregnant mum's needs. I particularly found it very useful as I have had quite severe pelvic pain during my pregnancy, and some yoga poses wouldn't have been suitable. Beverley is very knowledgeable and considerate to everyone's individual needs which I found very helpful and comforting. She was also kind enough to send us information about different breathing exercises we could do at home, and how to adapt your posture etc. for comfort and best positioning of your baby when at work or in the car. I found Beverley to be much more informative than my own midwife when asking questions!!

Beverley also has a very calming nature (and voice), meaning I was really able to relax and have time to myself during the classes. Much needed as I have a young toddler running around at home, so finding time for relaxation can be quite difficult!

I would happily and highly recommend Beverley's classes to anyone - particularly to expectant mums - as my experience has been wonderful.

I look forward to attending more of her classes in the future.

I practised ashtanga yoga for about 5 years before my first pregnancy. When I then tried to find a pregnancy yoga class that could in some way match the energetic, strength-building nature of ashtanga, I really struggled. I tried a few different classes and found them all deathly boring! However, I've competed almost 16 weeks of pregnancy yoga with Beverley, and have really enjoyed it. It's nothing like ashtanga - BUT - Beverley's extensive knowledge, clear teaching style and focus on relaxation is fantastic. I enjoy every week, and feel very supported and nurtured in her classes. Having tried a few pregnancy yoga classes, this is definitely the one I'd recommend.

I started Pregnancy yoga classes with Kat at 18 weeks pregnant up until 38 weeks when my baby was born. I really enjoyed the classes each week and felt they were so beneficial not only to empty and de-stress my mind but also to relax physically my body which became increasingly tense throughout pregnancy after all day sitting in the office! The sessions were also a great time to connect with my baby and think about only that. Although I knew from early on that I would have an elective cesarean section, the breathing techniques were useful throughout the operation to keep me focused. Highly recommend to anyone looking for Pregnancy yoga!

This will sound very cheesy but the Relax and Sing Baby Massage & Yoga Instructors Training course is probably one of the best moves I have made work wise! Mums and wee ones really love the style of the classes and I think the material that you've given us is amazing. And it's really lovely to see new parents (and babies!) making friends in class and bonding with their wee ones. I love running these Relax and Sing Baby Massage and Yoga classes in Inverness!

My husband and I attended the Relax and Breathe course in the winter of 2014 after being recommended hypnobirthing by a number of friends. We both really felt that we chose the best course with the best instructor! After my previous birth experience I had felt very much that control had been taken out of my hands and into the hospital midwifes and I had been left panicked by the the surges (contractions). What a change! Onie was a wonderful instructor who helped my husband and I work together as a partnership, learn how to take control of the situation (with no judgement on what birth path we would choose to follow), helped us develop our roles in the process and communicate well with each other. I also very much appreciated how much thought and research wetn into delivering the course, it was very up to date and relevant to all of us who attended. My birth experience was wonderful, I felt in control, my husband did too and I can even say I enjoyed the whole experience. I believe that this should be on the NHS, it makes so much sense logically and emotionally. Thank you so much!

I recently completed the Pregnancy Massage course with Onie, all i can say is WOW!!! It was 3 days of hard work and we had a lot to learn but it was a fun packed 3 days which were filled with meeting new people, sharing experiences and doubts and adapting techniques that we all use everyday as therapists. Onie is extremely knowledgeable and friendly and made each one of us feel at ease.

It was so amazing getting the opportunity to work on a "mum to be" and her bump at the end of the course.

My daughter and I have booked for the baby massage course running this weekend which we are both so excited about and I'm already contemplating what other courses i can book up to do.

I would definitely recommend Knot Stressed Therapies for training.

Me and my partner signed up for the relax and breathe hypnobirthing course as we really wanted to broaden our understanding about the journey of pregnancy, birth and parenting. Onie who ran the course was incredibly knowledgable and the course covered relaxation techniques, massage, the physiological process of birth and all he options available in an in depth yet fun way. Onie was very supportive and encouraging of everyone's personal choices and really cared about supporting each couple to explore options for their birth and helped equip each couple with tools to achieve this. I also attended pregnancy yoga with Kat which was really wonderful and provided opportunity to build strength and stamina while also learning excellent breathing and relaxation techniques. I would recommend the pregnancy massage which was such a relaxing and comfortable experience and Steph managed to rid my body of aches and stiffness. I also attended the information evenings run by Jenni a midwife who provided valuable insight and advice when we were considering home birth and were met with negative responses from other health professionals as it was our first baby. Jenni went out of her way to help us and we greatly valued her commitment and knowledge.
We had a peaceful water birth at home in 5 hours and welcomed our son into the world calmly. We feel all of the above helped us on our journey to achieving this and want to thank each of these people for their part in this.
KnotStressed is an excellent centre and all the therapists and practitioners seem to really care about what they are doing and go out of their way to be both supportive and accommodating of your needs. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

We heard about hypnobirthing from a friend and after a bit of research we came across knotstress and booked a course. We still speak about it: how useful and pleasant it was and how it allowed us to have a wonderful and unforgettable experience. I felt more in controlled and self confident to the point that I decided to change my options and go to the midwife-led centre instead than the hospital. My husband felt more involved. He played an active part both before and during the birth of our daughter Sofia, and I could have not done it in the same way without him. Listening to the scripts helped me to relax and prepare for the birth. When we discovered that Sofia was misplaced and we would have a delivery with the forceps or maybe caesarian, my first feelings were disappointment and fear, but I remembered Onie’s words of how the skills learnt would have helped us even with a change of plan. I took a breath and got on with it. I will be always grateful to Onie for guiding us to a relaxed and positive experience.

I'm so glad I chose to take up the Relax & Breathe Birthing Instructors Course last October. As a counsellor with a passion for supporting women during pregnancy and postnatally, I was delighted to find an opportunity to expand my work into offering these empowering birth classes to women and their birth partners. Jenny and Onie dellivered a thorough and absorbing course that paid attention to a good grounding in our knowledge of birth physiology, before moving on to other elements including movement, massage, deep relaxation techniques and visualisations. The emphasis is on experiential learning so in our small group we practised the relaxation and massage techniques as well as group faciitation skills. The course was relaxed and informal with lots of time built in for questions and interesting, sometimes challenging, discussion.

The final day was well spent on course delivery and promotion which I'm currently finding of great value, as well as the ongoing support from Onie over email for clarifying course content and marketing queries etc.

The assessment elements are thorough and diverse. With the grounding of the course as outlined above, I felt confident to deliver the course to an expecting couple as my case study assessment. The preparation of course notes in advance and feedback from Jenny and Onie meant that I felt sure of my knowledge and resources - and I learned so much from this aspect of the course, it gave me a real sense of myself as an instructor and was a great preparation for delivering the group classes. The couple I worked with really engaged with the course and felt it 'opened their eyes to new possibilities' - which I think is just fantatsic and at the centre of what Relax & Breathe is about.

Overall, I have been really impressed by this instructors course, and the passion and knowledge shared by Onie and Jenny is really encouraging. I'm currently rolling out classes in East Lothian and truly cannot wait for women and their birth partners to experience all the gains of choosing Relax & Breathe.

I went to see Aicha to get some help with figuring out a healthy way to help me lose weight and manage my eating. I hadn't been sure whether she would be able to help me, as I didn't feel particularly motivated, so I was a bit scared of feeling even worse afterwards. Despite this, I came away feeling more hopeful that I could come up with a realistic way to look at the way I eat and what can scupper my good intentions. It was useful to explore ways to help me reach the stage where I am more confident that I can make a plan and stick with it. I would really recommend seeing her if you're struggling with motivation or just don't know where to start!

I am so thankful that my husband and I attended Onie's Relax and Breathe birthing course! We moved here from America where we had our first child and were looking for a different experience with the birth of our second. I knew that I wanted to deliver in the Royal's birthing centre but after Onie's course, both my husband and I felt confident enough to go for a home birth! Our son, Stuart, was born at home after 5 short hours of active labor and it was absolutely incredible. The Relax and Breathe course gave me the knowledge I needed to know what was happening with my body and my baby throughout each stage of labor. For example, when I was nearly ready to give up - I saw it as a good sign because the baby was close. And close he was! He was born 3 or 4 surges after that moment of doubt. In addition to having the birth experience I wanted, this course made me feel very empowered. Even if things hadn't gone the way we had planned, we knew that each decision was always in our control and that felt really, really good. I would recommend this course to anyone who is expecting and looking for the confidence and skill set to help enable the birth experience of their choice.

My husband and I attended the 'Relax and Breathe' classes in preparation for birth of our son. We initially signed up to get more information than we got through local antenatal classes.

We found the classes very informative and supportive. the groups were small enough to feel it was individually relevant and it was lovely to meet other parents to be. The course helped us prepare as a couple, including thinking over issues we wouldn't have identified otherwise.

I found the course, the scripts and affirmations incredibly helpful during labour, even when we needed an emergency section. The relax and breathe course helped us stay calm, remain focussed and feel informed during each stage.

I have already recommended this course to others as it was so helpful to us.

What started as a spark from attending the Relax and Breathe Birthing Course with Onie quickly became a focused reality with the birth of our beautiful son Leo. We attended the course initially as a way to get info outside of the world of the NHS and to find coping strategies for when the pregancy/labour became difficult or stressful. After the first session we quickly realised that we wanted to go down the homebirth route with all the benefits that brings. Unfortunately our midwife didn't share the same enthusiasm and so following a drop-in session with Jenny we quickly changed midwives to one that we felt would give us the level of support we'd require. The course itself essentially gave us the tools to give us the confidence in ourselves and the natural way of childbirth to allow us to have the calm, natural birth that we wanted for us and our baby. Covering everything from positions and what to expect in labour to massage techniques and birth plans the course left us feeling fully empowered and ready to face any challenges that may come during the birth. We even recommended a drop in session to a friend who had an emergenecy C-section with her first baby and after speaking to the guys at Knotstressed it gave her the confidence to deliver her second naturally. On our big day everything went about as smooth as we could have hoped. Tessa was amazing, helped by the little calm affirmation cards that we received as part of the course that she had placed all around the house in preparation. Little Leo was born at home in the birthing pool after just 5 hours of labour. I think the attending community midwives were a little shocked at how calm Tessa was and how quickly everything progressed given that it was our first baby. I very much doubt that we'd have had the same experience had we not attended the course and built that level of confidence in ourselves and had access to all the amazing tools that the course gave us. We can't thank Onie and Jenny enough!
